Speaking of great party bands... Anyone remember Mel and the Party Hats? Made the college circuit around the SEC in the 80's and 90's. I believe Mel was the son of a Judge around Tuscaloosa.

My LSU memories are early to mid 90’s so the bands around that time were Liquid Jelly Monkey Love, Amos Moses, and several I can’t remember

2004 was the year I started to frequent bands, at the varsity and smaller venues. I never heard of them. I'm trying to find information on a band I seen, it was their last show at the varsity, Yellow light go. I got a demo cd from them with 4 songs on it. It was pretty good. Wish I can hear some of their other stuff.

Mel (real name is Hunter) is from Nashville. He is a graduate of SMU. He was working in the financial services industry, then created the character Mel. I think he still plays private parties in Nashville, but don’t know for sure if he’s still active.
