Joe has a ton of fans. Hopefully his fans have his back and not just say “oh well, we lost another one”. That’s the only way he truly gets cancelled.

Do you believe that some words can be so harmful that they should be disallowed by law?
They are. Overt threats. Or riot inducing. The cited ones of fire in a theater or involving the President.
Of course that’s statements not just individual words. Like the n-bomb.
Also back to Rogan. Context and nuance matter. If he is talking to Dave Chapelle or any other comic about words used in stand up. And the n word is brought up. Instead of saying “n word” every time, he just says it in the flow of a conversation about the word itself? That’s nuance and context.
The one example I remember hearing while watching a podcast, that’s what he was doing. I can’t remember the comic he was talking to. He didn’t just hit a black guest up with “hey my N——!” Hearing it the way he said it still made me wince. Because I worried that this shite may come back one day. Which is sad in itself. An honest conversation can’t be had. It is hopeless. If a word is that venomous then we certainly can’t talk about race relations and real issues.

A hundred years ago people didn't have these platforms and had to express their ideas the old fashioned ways. Does Rogan not have access to that?
not if Spotify pulls down episodes, which is the entire premise of this conversation dummy

Joe, could have stayed independent. He seemed to be doing fine before the move to Spotify. Anyone with a brain could see that going to Spotify was going to be a problem for him eventually. He should have decentralized. Would have given him the freedom to say what he wants without reprisal.
Not entirely true. Before making the jump to Spotify YouTube kept demonetizing and removing some of his episodes also. He still owns his podcast entirely to my understanding and his deal with Spotify was supposed to be just an exclusivity deal to only broadcast on their platform. That obviously has turned out to not be the case and Spotify has more control than I bet he was imagining. He still owns his IP though so he could make a move somewhere else if he wanted. The problem is unless he owns the platform it’s probably going to be hard to not have issues with demonetization and censorship when he has the freaking White House calling for more censorship of him.

The side calling out Rogan for saying these type things have nothing to say about any of the rap tracks in Spotify that are straight up odes to murder. The attack on Rogan is dishonest, and 100% faux outrage.
These people bend over, grab their ankles, and mindlessly get outraged at whatever the media shoves up their arse. Then they take it to the Twitter echo chamber and pat each other on the back for their wokeness. Bitch traits...

He had Adam Curry on a couple weeks ago and they discussed moving to a different podcast platform that is free and open to do what he wants. Joe hinted that he will probably have to end up doing that.

Joe Rogan is a retard.
In pretty much every episode he says he is a dumbass so he might agree with you. With that said, not many retards are able to build a podcast that has the following he does, be a comedian and be a color analyst for the UCF.
If they can go after Rogan like this, they can go after every single person who has a podcast. There are a lot of podcast people can start saying "they are spreading false information".
There are a lot of podcast that can be accused of spreading "false information", if Spotify removes Rogan then people can go after other podcast they don't like and since they gave in and removed Rogan they would have to give in and remove all the other podcast.
Corporations are no different than a mob or street gang. You start fricking with their money and they will go after you at every angle. And like the mob or street gangs, they pay off people. Instead of paying off police, they pay off representatives and senators and they are allowed to hide behind the government, since they have them in their back pocket.
When you have the money AND the power, especially on the scale that corporations (especially pharmaceuticals) do, they will use everything accessible to them to stop whatever is not in their best interest.

I think Rogen should be able to say whatever the hell he wants to say
I think Spotify has a right to censor him as they see fit or fire him according to the terms of their contract
I think listeners have the right to not listen
Artists have the right to not allow their art on Spotify
Advertisers have the right to not advertise
Great. Now what about the scenario where the people who own the servers, the infrastructure, and everything ban together based upon ideology and enforce silence?

Definitely a troll post or you're not very smart.

The obsession with Joe Rogan this board has is bizarre.

I remember when the government basically ran Howard Stern off the radio for talking about farts and wacking off.

It’s simple: stand up. But you’re a fricking coward.

How? What does that even mean? Give me some specifics as to how I'm supposed to "stand up" over Joe Rogans podcast.
