weed is indeed a gateway substance.

Why has this always been said of cannabis, but never of tobacco and alcohol?

You're a slacker. Probably the weed making you lazy.

I live in NM where weed is legal, more weed shops than gas stations here. The volume of homeless and drug addicted is worse here than any place I have lived

It is a scourge on our society and our nation’s downfall coincided with its acceptance.

I would claim alcohol is the true gateway drug. It’s the first one everyone tries

Here in Florida it's legal but only medicinal. The thing is that it's laughably easy to get a card. I'm not exaggerating when I say that almost everywhere you go, pretty much everyone you deal with is high. Every worker at every store. Servers that wait on you. You can watch people hit their vape pens while they're driving. I've had Uber drivers to it in front of me. Kids using it is also a huge problem down here. Ripping their weed pens in class. I'm not opposed to it being legal, and I've been known to partake myself once in a while. But it's everywhere now and it's only gonna get more prevalent, not less. And I don't know what that will mean for our society when a good portion of them are high all day.

What are your thoughts on cigarettes?

Doesn't matter. There are better, more practical reasons for legalization.

Exactly. Who gives a flying frick?

I prefer THC gummies. I do it only at home. Why should I be punished because other idiots can't control themselves?

While there are alternatives like edibles, smoking weed should be illegal outside of one’s home. Even then, in apartments, you are stuck with your neighbors weed potentially getting you high and making your home smell like arse.

Also, people claiming it is non-addictive is hilarious. Being less addictive than heroin, cocaine and opioids doesn’t make it non-addictive.

Do you drink alcohol?

My brother is a doctor in Texass. He told me if it were legal to prescribe it there, he would. He thinks it is great for pain management and anxiety.

Are there any causations in that piece or just correlations?

And overregulation of opioids has become a problem for people without SA issues and clearly has not stopped opioid-addiction issues (see: fentanyl)

With anything, there will be negative effects. With anything trashy, of course there will be negative effects.

It’s cool if you’re tarded. Lots of tards lead kicksss lives. My ex wife is retarded.

She’s a pilot now.

The problem is we treat addiction and mental illness in the absolute worst possible way.

People with addiction and trauma related mental health issues are usually desperately crying out for help and connection and guidance and support and insurance shun and shame and punish and isolate them.

For such an unbelievably wealthy and well off and privileged society we treat our poor and sick like absolute dogshit.

This. The whole “gateway drug” argument is weak. If you’re going to go to opiates/opioids/fentanyl-risk drugs, your “gateway” can be practically anything.
