Brutalist architecture is terrible

I think this is closer to structural expressionism than brutalism. I don't think it is particularly attractive but I think it is much more interesting than the typical CFA:

I think the main focus here is function. The whole is built around efficiency which is one of the reasons people consider them customer focused. It greatly enhances their ability to serve more people quickly with the 4 drive-through lanes with drive-up App pickup vs parking. Apparently, the kitchen is twice the normal size. One of the big advantages is they will be able to serve more customers faster while remaining on the often small lots they are built on.

Who gives a frick what the building looks like? People don’t go to CFA to marvel at the architecture.

Even with that fancy setup, the drive thru line will still back up into the street

Apparently this will only apply to two Atlanta restaurants and they’ll be known as drive thru concept restaurants

There is no dining area upstairs. The entire concept is drive through only. The entire upstairs is kitchen only.

But 1 recent reno and another newly built chick fil a here no longer have the drive through windows. Basically just double lanes and double doors which the workers walk out to your window and hand your food.

Some of them have a conveyor belt that takes food up and over veritically. I’ve never seen that at any other spot.

You can clearly see a dining area on the upper floor in the right corner window in the render.

I have several "invitations to bid" Chick-Fil-A remodels every month here in the Atlanta area. I have yet to see drawings with something like this come across my desk. Most of them are remodeling the interior customer areas and adding a little bit of extra room on the back side to increase storage and freezer size.

This doesn't even make sense. Drive thru on first level and dining on second level? The ADA standards would require an elevator, and life safety standards would require a one-hour rated ceiling above the kitchen. The construction expenses would be ridiculous. CFA ain't doing that anytime in the near future.

Yeah, it looks cool, but it ain't happenin'.

I don't know about that. The ones here were just demolished and remodeled last year.

Is this true if the kitchen is on the second floor?

Even assuming the construction cost is very high it might be offset by being able to serve significantly more customers in locations that are currently turning people away with long lines.
