Mainland's AI-heavy STAR50 index down 40% from July high

The reversal reflects a rally that ran to higher heights than markets in the West or elsewhere in Asia, and compares with a mere prick to US AI stocks, which ?have led a 6% drawdown in the Nasdaq (.IXIC), opens new tab from a record high scaled three weeks ago.
Seems like the US market is slowing as well but the losses are more sustainable and not as sudden.

“Ai” isn’t real
True artificial intelligence was built in like 2001 on aol instant messenger called smarterchild and it ran on dial up internet and windows 95
They shut it down because it was too powerful. The data centers aren’t for ai they’re for mass surveillance

This implies that computing power needs are down which is not true. Being China, im more inclined to believe the stock price was built on smoke and bullshite and something caught up with them.

China is like the 1950s in the us
Companies don’t worry about their stock price they care more about doing what’s best for society

Yup. This is why I don’t invest in Chinese stocks.

I think we call that "potential" in the US. It's an uphill run till the numbers get real then it's back to a realistic valuation.

Nothing in China is real. When the media is controlled by the state, literally everything is propaganda

With the STAR50 index still at around 100 times trailing earnings, albeit down from a high of nearly 250, investors compare the Nasdaq 100's multiple of 30 and worry the selloff could get worse before it gets better.
Yikes... would not say it has burst yet.
No matter what the industry you can't borrow money forever, and eventually you do have to make a profit.
The large AI plays like Anthropic and OpenAI have no path to profits. SpaceX quietly transitioned their plan to not sell AI, but sell compute to to other players.
Google, Microsoft, and Meta all have large revenue generating businesses that will survive if it goes belly up. Remember just about a decade again when everyone was dumping billions in VR. What a miss..
