Only reason Jackson, Ms isn't higher is because ignorance really is bliss

Time was, if a guy named Edwin Taliaferro started telling people to call him "Chokwe Lumumba," and preaching the virtues of the "Republic of New Afrika," he would have received the psychiatric help he sorely needed.

Nowadays, he gets to be mayor of Jackson, MS.

Never been to Port Arthur. Is it THAT bad?

Ate up with Culcha... abandoned buildings everywhere... entire neighborhoods abandoned after multiple tropical storm/hurricane hits over the last 20 years.

Then a shitload of vientnamese shrimpers, etc. invaded. It's like a third world country.

Port Neches, Groves, Nederland are the only inhabitable areas within 50 miles.

Should be higher on the list. However, this is quite literally just a neighborhood in west Chicago.

Love the drive from PHX to Winslow through the mountains. Absolutely gorgeous and is a redneck dream destination.

was coming to joke that Beaumont MUST be on the list but, good enough for me

THIS! Port Authur is not bad at all, but Beaumont is a miserable place. I dont understand why anyone would live there.

In general Louisiana cities are voted happy despite all the metrics against. Must be the food.

Warren and Youngstown are right next to each other. If you drive near that area you can tell the decline of the steel industry devastated those cities past the point of no return. Both are complete shitholes.

calling BS on Cleveland .... working there for a few months and it's has some great neighborhoods with good food, a great music scene and very little traffic.

Cleveland is much nicer now than it was 20 years ago. There is a lot to do there and it is really, really fun in the summer and fall. Just avoid East Cleveland and Euclid.

Spent the latter half of my youth growing up in Saginaw, MI (#31 on the list). What a shite hole. I feel I was robbed in life being removed from New Orleans by my mother.
