Point being, are these just common names from areas that don’t see many folks going to college? Because the names aren’t wacky or anything.
This is from the book Freakonomics. It was published nearly 20 ago, and outlined the correlation between names & perceptions. Some names (I believe they used Alyssa) were initially common in affluent circles, but were adopted by lower income groups and fell out of favor.
The point was along the lines of “be careful when you pick a name; people will have preconceived biases when they see it on the resume.”

I am the one who posted the OP, and i have to say that i feel dumb - even though my name isnt on the list.. becuase i just always assumed that anyone named Ricky was actually named Richard, and went by Ricky when they were little then Rick or Rich as an adult (like that kid on Silver Spoons)… same with Billy/William et al… i was today years old when i found out that people actually named their kids names ending in Y .

If you drop the y's or ie's from the endings, then they high-education?

So Ricky Bobby has intelligent parents with a combined 23.29 years of education?

What ever happened to little Adolph Hitler, the kid that New Jersey took away from his parents and put in foster care.
That was like 7 years ago. Where is he now?

Do any white people actually spell it “Micheal”?

I see a few names I’d put a 1,000 bucks on, sight unseen, in a fight against Easton, Noah, Kashton, Jaxxon, Aiden, and Grayson.

These lists are so fricking dumb and user junk statistics.

Hmm... My name and two of my brothers names are on that list. Parents were very educated and all three of us graduated college.

She was so close...could have gotten her doctorate if she had only gone with 'phen instead of 'even.
