We continuously pay more and get less every year. I haven't been to the doctor in years because of it. I fight through colds and sinus infections with Dayquil. I would have to be dying in order to voluntarily schedule a doctor's appointment.

Yes it is. Small company and one of our main employees had some large claims with a newborn. We're all happy that the baby is doing well now.

Insurance took the opportunity to stick us with higher rates.

group providers need to make sure their agents are looking at options, and presenting what they all were.

if that info is provided, then the buyers just have to have faith they are getting the best option their group can be provided

On the provider end, a lot of folks are seeing plans shift from copay per service for certain covered services (like mental health) to deductible then 80% (or something to that affect). With deductibles increasing. Moving to private pay service continues to become more appealing, sadly.

Personally our premiums went up about 15% and some services are moving from copay to deductible.

Just quick note here:
Every employee should be nudging their HR and CFOs to be shopping their brokers out more regularly.

I’m not an expert but am friends with a lot of B2B health insurance brokers, and they say it’s crazy how many companies just accept their increases from BCBS/UH etc and think that’s the best there is, without challenging their existing broker.

There are some creative ways to get better plans and not as drastic increases if your company is willing to shop around.

Obamacare is a big reason I’m no longer self-employed, and also moved the family to Texas and raised them here instead of South Louisiana.

Mary Landrieu can forever frick off.

Up 20%. BCBS.

I'm not going to pretend like I know how to fix it, but it seems insane that there's very little interest in doing anything about it. It's destroying the middle class.

If premiums were reduced by 50%, almost all of the other 50% would go straight to infusing the economy. Instead, we're just paying 20 grand a year to make sure we don't have to pay 50 grand if somebody steps in a hole the wrong way.

The problem is Health Insurance for most companies is led and negotiated by HR and not actual business people supporting them.

There are no business executives or supply chain folks negotiating it like any other commodity.

It's done by some HR Manager that overpaid for her house 10 years ago and has little to no equity.
