Agreed. It helped that he was able to follow that dull Jew guy as his opener.

But he really played to the stereotype, growling his lines, smiling, gazing up to the heavens (continuing the false tradition of heavens being located in a specific direction). He seemed to be waiting for shout outs from the audience (praise Jesus, lawdy Jesus, mmhmmm, das right, and so on), but obviously knew better. Such a great performance.
