We're going to meet up with some family, keep it low key.

But seriously, how the f*** do they expect us not to gather when the following was publicly exposed:

1. Nancy Pelosi plans a Thanksgiving dinner for something like 50+ new congress
2. Gavin Newsom goes to an indoor dinner party
3. Lori Lightfoot is at a Biden Rally, very close to others, no mask
4. Fredo Cuomo actually HAD COVID and was driving around looking at his new house in the Hamptons.

I'm not arguing about the science, but the optics are pure shite. It all says "yall have to get in line while we do what the f*** we want".

There's your unity...

Two fried turkeys with family, maybe 3. It depends on the final number attending.

Going to my parents then dropping off a plate to my 94 year old Grandpa
I feel awful for those in the nursing home that will not be able to see their family for the holidays

Same as always. We told everyone if they want to wear masks, they should feel comfortable doing so.

What happens when y’all sit down to eat?
Do you have chairs spaced 6 feet apart?
Is 1 person dishing up the food for everyone’s plates or will everyone be touching the same serving spoons?

I don't give a shite. I want to see my family. If they want to wear a mask, then so be it.

Thanksgiving with my in-laws has been cancelled because my Father in Law and his wife have Covid. Will probably go to Thanksgiving at my parent's house only. Usually do lunch with inlaws and dinner at my parents, only one meal this year.

Looks like we are doing our normal thing on Thanksgiving. We are not a huge family, though.

Grandmother is cooking and we're picking up and taking it home to eat. With Zoom.

Not because it was recommended by the Governor but because my Mom is going through chemo and even in non-COVID days isn't supposed to be around younger kids(which both cousins have and they're always sick) due to her being significantly immunocompromised. Me and the SO will eat with my parents.

I have to say.. I would be totally fine with the gathering being canceled if someone preferred it.. but I would die if I had to watch/listen to people awkwardly eat on video call.

The sounds of chewing and slurping. People’s inevitable tech issues. Trying to talk over each other. It’s bad enough on work calls.

I’m frying two turkeys like I normally do. I may try a fried pork roast for the first time. It looks like our family dinner will be the same as it always is.
