He interviews a bunch of former cops who say the biggest problem in the department is not the crime or even the Consent Decree, but rather, absolute cronyism and incompetence among the NOPD brass, including Public Integrity Bureau
Time for a new chief.
Last time this was an issue, Marc Morial did the one good thing he did in 8 years and brought in Pennington.
Will Latoya be bullied and do the same?

Cronyism and nepotism in NOPD is nothing new. Being a cop used to be a family business. My cousins are NOPD as were their Dad's and grandfather's going back almost 80 years some the kids were even thinking about it.
The force is ripe with corruption. Not the usual guys abusing the paid detail corruption. Real corruption that is " overlooked" Real criminal stuff. Cops running prostitution, cops working for drug dealers. Contracts for phantom police cars.....waiving of requirements at the academy. There's also a land deal about the old police academy on City Park Avenue that has not hit the news. That certain high ranking officers and politicans see as a chance to make some money....actually Teedy has that bottled up with the lawyers right now. Probably the one responsible thing she has done.
