That happens, and due to the HUGE advantage incumbent Governors in Louisiana have, you can kiss the hopes of a conservative being elected Governor.
Bill Nungesser will soak up so much money, including from the Republican side, no one would be able to take him down in 2023, and the extra two years to Jan 2024 wouldn't count against him. He'd still get two full terms. Ten years of Governor Nungesser.

If the LAGOP was smart, they could use this to pretty much neuter JBE for the rest of his term, but they won't. Also, so much for being Gov. Honor Code.

This was him paying back LSP for endorsing him back in 2015. JBE is a piece of shite, shouldn't have taken anyone 7 years to figure that out.

Smack smack is an idiot, but maybe he was, I don't know, letting the investigation unfold?
The way that text reads implies he died from injuries sustained in the crash. So if thats how State Police were spinning it, it matches the text received by Edwards.
I would need to see alot more before crucifying Edwards (on this issue).
Disclaimer: I'm not advocating for any particular side and it may come out he was complicit in the cover up. I'm only saying based on the OP, this is a being overblown.

If Baton Rouge Police Officers and Commanders were accused of half the things alleged in this use of force and subsequent cover up by these Highway Patrolman and their leadership, simply put Baton Rouge would still be burning.
