Looks like she was drunk and mouthy, a common event. So she can call me every name in the book without special recourse, but if she calls some transgender any names relating to his transgender status she gets enhanced penalties.
Hate crimes create a victim privilege. I have seen many videos on the OT where a black man has clearly attacked a white or asian person senselessly and under circumstances where a "hate crime" likely occurred. But, they aren very rarely prosecuted that way.

Beating them up and calling them the fig-word? Seems like it could be a legit hate crime.
However, in BR a black man beating a white man to a pulp after making race remarks and how he's in the wrong part of town isn't enough for a hate crime.

this happened outside their apartment or condo. theyve probably had confrontation before. But i guess calling someone a phag is a hate crime now. better lock up Chris rock.
