I think this is why many are chiming in so against it, they just don't understand that Texas ISDs operate much differently and better than the Louisiana school system.

That, and most people are familiar with the Allen Stadium deal which, if I remember correctly, is not for an ISD, but rather for Allen High School only. That stadium for one school is absolutely ridiculous, yet absolutely awesome too.

Traffic has been brought up on 1310 The Ticket a few times.
From what I remember hearing, the traffic is actually designed to flow quite well with designated entry & exit flow.

The new stadium will be about 3 miles from my house, Allen's is about 5 miles.

I am surprised this will only seat 12,000, Allen's is 18,000 and can top 20,000 for big games with SRO.

Allen's stadium cost is becoming justified, they are undefeated in that stadium

Although the stadium is dedicated to a single HS, it is multi-use for sports and also used by other schools in playoffs. Graduations is there and other various activities. BTW the band uses up 1000 seats, yes the band is that freaking big.

Perfect example of mix-use: the Texas HS lacrosse state championships are taking place there this weekend.

And they serve sushi in the conncession stand. I mean, what else would you possibly want?!?!

Stadium will be less than 1/2 mile from my house. Dreading what traffic will look like down Harden on Friday nights.

People who complain about this never have been into these areas to begin with. I live 2 min away from Plano and a 5 minute trip up the DNT to get to Frisco and you can tell just from the buildings being erected that this area and likewise McKinney have their shite together. Now if only they would hurry the frick up with the DNT expansion......

Yeah maybe Louisiana will step up and finally spend the federal tax dollars that they got to expand I-10.

Priorities.

They now have enough 5A high schools that have opened that they don't have to leave the city to play a district game. In 95% of the country, that is unheard of. I imagine it will be a bit odd, at first, playing your home game 1 week on 1 sideline then your "away" game the next weekend on the opposite sideline.
that would suck... taking a drive every now and then is the best part of HS sports...

I do not think it will be that bad. 12,000 people is not that many cars in the end. We have season tickets to Allen and getting in and out has never been much of an issue.

Frisco is a cluster phuck trying to get people in and out of FC Dallas games, though Rough Riders is pretty smooth.

They likely aren't going to play unless you and your wife are athletic as hell.

School is prolly already recruiting future 4 star athletes

Traffic in/out is one of the main areas of focus and said it will be built with that in mind.

It will still back up the tollway. Especially northbound between 4-6. This will be a huge issue when there is an FC game, baseball game or concert at the same time a couple exits north of it off Main St. Tollway and feeders are already bad for those events now. I'm still in a wait & see mindset right now without any strong opinions 1 way or the other.

Oh yea, I'm well aware.

In fact, my post I'm assuming you replied to on the 1st page was mainly as a joke. I do live in McKinney but we're zoned for the Frisco ISD so my kids wouldn't even go to schools that use that stadium...we'll have to "settle" for the new $1.5 billion Cowboys practice facility!!!

The Kelly Reeves stadium on Parmer Lane in Round Rock TX is a damn nice stadium that seats 11000
We call it the "Palace on Parmer". Great venue for all of the various activities held there by the Round Rock ISD schools.

It will reportedly be the most expensive high school stadium built to date, less than five miles north of the $60 million one in Allen, Texas.

Hopefully it lasts longer than the Allen stadium.
