Not that that's a bad thing, just that you're waiting for something that will never happen.

Restaurants and bars are raising prices beyond what I currently want to pay. When they raise them slower than my income increases (stabilization for me) I will then go out a lot more. It's just tough to stomach 8 or 9 dollar beers with 40 dollar mediocre steaks.

Not my typical stop when wearing a fishing shirt.

Was it the word dined that provoked the response?

Chain restaurant mockery was intended for most of the posters in this thread, not just you. Nothing personal.

The happy hour country fried chicken plate for 10.99 is a steal. You get 2 sides plus the rolls too.

I wish we could get raises based on the “inflationary pressure we expect to face in 2024”. Maybe Roadhouse can do that for their employees.

As long as people are still paying, the incentive for them is to increase prices. There's really no reason not to, again, provided it's not driving people away and revenues aren't hurting.

Yea I’m not much for chain restaurants but if I’m on the road and need to stop and eat right off the highway I usually look for a Texas Roadhouse

The last time I ate at a Texas Roadhouse the chicken fried steak had more grizzle than meat.

Ate there last week for my wife's birthday and I got Chicken Fried Steak, and it was on point. Juicy, thick, lots of gravy. We always get a to go order of rolls. The waitress hooked us up with 2 orders of rolls and cinnamon for them. We love going there when we dont have to wait an hour to sit.

Great for a chain. We go semi regularly with the in-laws. Only thing Ive ordered and will never order again was the fried catfish. Not good

A well-run chain restaurant is much better than a poorly-run local restaurant.

I like what I like. Chain restaurants can make it easier to find acceptable fair when traveling a lot for work. Consistency across locations is what I look for there.

I do usually prefer local places when I find them but I have found a few lately that seem to want a premium price for average food and seem to feel entitled to get that because they are a local place.

I will say that owning and running a local restaurant is a grind, I would not want to do it.

Didn’t realize we had so many blue-collar posters that love their Applebees type establishments.
