As for the OP I completely agree with her. No place for that in a school library and the fact that presumably check out a book like that without parental consent is disturbing

I went down a rabbit hole on this school explosion thing, which I had never heard of
TL: DR, 1930s version of oil and gas baws took their families with them instead of leaving them at home for Jody (smart). Brand new school for the children of these transient workers. To save money they don't have a steam boiler, instead use individual gas heaters in each room. To save even more money they run a line directly to the gas field and use raw gas directly from the wellhead (no smell). Somehow gas infiltrates the whole school. Nobody notices. Teacher in shop class starts an electric power tool and boom. Explosion can be heard for miles.

I have read many true books about the New London gas explosion in Texas. I am 99.8% certain that during that time period in New London, it would be highly unlikely that a hispanic female would date a black male.
