You said “it’s exciting… it’s awesome… it’s great” in reference to him getting killed. That doesn’t sound very indifferent.

I don't eat house sparrows or European starlings, but I could spend all day gleefully shooting them.
I shoot the frick out of pigs and sometimes I eat them and sometimes I don’t. They frick everything up and a pain in the arse for the farmers.
We run thermals on farm land to help out controlling the hogs and sometimes we have a good night and I’m not cleaning a bunch of pigs at 2:00 am.

The thrill of the ultimate trophy hunt. Hunt something that hunts you at the same time. Bears, Lions, this buffalo, etc. A hunter like that, He knew the risks.

that is one quiet animal to not make any noise running that fast in brush

You think he enjoyed being gored by a Cape Buffalo?

I just find it amazing the buffalo had the reasoning to know the Dallas-based-millionaire hunter was the bad guy from the buffalo's perspective and to act on the fact that he knew the Dallas-based-millionaire had to be taken out or he would have be taken out.

Minimum caliber rifle per local regs is a 375 H&H or bigger

It sucks that it happened, but when you go to these habitats trying to kill these animals, you know the risk. It's always there. Sucks that it happened, and I feel sorry for his family, but mother nature is a bitch sometimes, and so are the animals.

Those hunters pay huge fees to hunt there. The money is used to preserve the land and herds, and stop poaching.

How did the buffalo know to kill him? Or, do they just kill anything in their territory?

Yes, you are getting enjoyment out of killing an animal. Are you killing the elk for nourishment of your body or the joy of the kill. It is a fine line.
If you have a lust for blood, kill where it is needed like the feral hogs of West Texas.

35 mph. Might as well walk in front of a truck.

I’ve never shot anything bigger than a .338
.300 win is the biggest thing I own. Works great on those 90 lb doe standing at the feeder 90 yards away.
