Testing the cruise control on a Mazda 6 I got up to 127 between Grosse Tete and BR when I was young.
Road racing in 2004 I was cruising at 110 or so on that stretch when I was passed by a red blur that was a little turbo civic hatchback. Two minutes later traffic slowed and then stopped. Two hours and a lot of emergency vehicles later, it started moving. A few miles ahead, a red car was 25+ feet up the trees smashed to bits.
Stopped, talked to the trooper. Kid was somehow fine. He said the kid claimed the front end bounced and that's all he remembered. Trooper said first point of impact was 20ft up...on a flat road. Near as he could tell, the huge wing spoiler lifted the front and he ramped nothing but AIR.
Screw thatm

I see 20 people driving faster than that through the quad every day

I don't think 20 over should justify getting arrested on the spot but 181 in a 75 should be an attempted murder charge.

Thanks for that.. Not surprising. Another reason to hate crotch rockets

Mister 181 mph didn't beat out the 2016 highest of 209 mph also a motorcycle and on the same stretch of road.

181 is three miles a minute. Must have radioed a unit 30 Miles ahead to catch him.
For perspective, 200mph is one football field per second.

181 on a motorcycle must be fricking terrifying.

I went about 130 on a rural area of the Autobahn and I was passed by more cars than I passed in my rental POS.

Take a trip on 635 express lanes late on Friday or Saturday night... You’ll see some bikes that have to be nearing levels in OP.

Definitely. I've hit over 160 before (im pretty sure) but don't know exactly what as past about 150 my arse was puckered and I didn't even try to look at the speedometer. I've kept the throttle wide open over 150 and still accelerating but eyes straight ahead until backing off.
Long time ago though. Sold my bike over a decade ago after a couple of accidents and have never been on one since. Figure I escaped death the way I was riding and got that shite out of my system in my early 20s.

I flew into Dallas to buy a 750il years and years ago before they became common. Driving back to GA I got it up to 156 on i20 before I let off the pedal and took a deep breath. It felt like floating on a cloud.

Sort of a similar story. It was about 1983 or 1984. I remember that I was 13 years old, riding with my uncle on US HWY 280 East between Sylacauga and Alexander City, AL. Those were the double nickel days.
A red Corvette, probably a 69 model, passed us at a very high rate of speed. I am assuming they were going around 120 MPH. 5 or 10 minutes later there were cars stopped in the road ahead. I will never forget that scene: red fiberglass was strewn all over the highway, median, and roadside. A shattered piece of the front clip was hanging in a tree about 15 feet off the ground and the woods were on fire. Both men in the car died.
Every time I get a little too heavy on the accelerator, I think about that.

130 in a G37 on Hwy. 22 was pretty interesting... but yeah, 181 sounds pretty frightening....
