He cut off the next sequence of her cost of living statement, where she explains they went from $1,500 in monthly grocery expense to $400
“Groceries are a lot cheaper here. We were spending around $300 to $400 a week before, and now we spend around $400 — which will last us a month,” she explained.

What is it with these Texas people leaving to other , obviously worse off countries? First the Mensa member who moved to Russia and then this genius?
If you think Texas is bad, what do you think Panama is going to be like?
He moved to a jungle over $200?
He's special.

You can get a fair amount of this for $200 a month, and you’ll need it.

Just make sure your property doesn’t back up to the Darian gap.

The last time I visited Panama was at Christmas in 1989. Took a direct flight from NC, which was crowded and loud. The plane didn't even land, my friends and I had to disembark at 500 ft in the middle of the night. We were shot at upon arrival. The food was all packaged in plastic and cardboard and tasted exactly like similar food in the US. The open-air accommodations were minimal, and the bugs were prevalent. The weather was not bad, and fortunately, it was the beginning of the dry season, but nobody explained that to the dew point.
High points: a CIB and mustard stain for a couple of days' work
Low points: everything else
would not return 1 star only because the app won't allow zero stars
Sounds like the exact same experience a friend of mine had. He gave it two thumbs down. Trying to get him some air miles for the knee he got f$%ked up when his chute didn't open all the way.

How long before someone from the U.S. has to ether go rescue them or retrieve the bodies?

You didn't like your neighborhood so instead of finding a better place nearby..... you move 2,000+ miles away in a fricking jungle?

After the first attack from a venomous reptile but before they find decent healthcare.

I know, right? They've taken over Louisiana and it's frustrating.

There are a few countries in central America I’d live in but not because they are safer. Unless I was moving from New Orleans
If I were moving out of the US, I'd probably go to Mexico.
Some parts of coastal Mexico are getting more popular for retirees. I might move there one day for a while if they continue to improve.
But that's not at all where they moved.

Yall might laugh but Panama is actually not a bad spot. They made a solid choice. Texas is turning into a 3rd world jungle as well, might as well move to one you can be the top of the pyramid in?

No vidya games, no ice lattes, no gay bars, the average American couldn’t handle it.
Your ancestors likely would have done it though.
