I assume this guy killed only his mother? And no, that doesn't make it better. Not my point. It's just odd to me how some can murder several and not get DP, but this guy kills his mother and gets DP. I'm not even here to say what's right or wrong. Just interested. It still disturbs me that Cruz didn't get the DP after killing 17 people.

He was born again in prison and baptized. If you believe in the concept of heaven and hell, then presumably you believe in a supreme being and the ability to forgive. Christians actually believe someone can be forgiven up until the moment of execution (Jesus forgave a criminal while on the cross and promised paradise). I don’t speak for God, but if we Christian’s are right then he may not be going to hell. He has asked for forgiveness and is at peace with “the Man” according to news articles.

They have averaged three per year since 2020. Numbers were between 7 and 17 each year for the decade prior, but recently it is about three per year.
