I can see the big Texas city suburb and its manicured main ways and neighborhood entrances, beautiful signs, probably named Hidden Oasis or similar…Mom, all loving, caring and protective…from corporate ilk, Dad a VP of name your Co or Inc has dedicated herself be there for her children, unlike her own father…beating the cognitive behavioral therapy like a drum, she takes the decision to make the post…

Backdrop: next door neighbor in cul de sac swaps wives, other next door neighbor is ex pat from Australia who is on his 2nd marriage…

Because the high school, 4,500 students, has everything…they have high self esteem, but in actuality narrow social connections. It creates its own norms. Within, these questions flow and get answered with righteous and genuine helpfulness. In this sphere, this type of question is free of judgment.

Outside, in the real world, the VP Dad, Zoloft saturated Mom and condom for son discussion are not even things.

And this is one pathway example of how this comes to be and A&M Yell Leaders make sense to some.

In most high schools, this would have / should have been beaten out of them in 8th grade (ahem, conditioned). Kidding. But, this is new reality. especially in big and life / death dependent competitive TX burbs.

Pity. For too many.

Seen this one more than once…

Two parents working, subpar parenting team (not aligned, together in approach and on high parenting together priorities), raising kids not in top 5 priorities, present for kids as convenient in life, attend kids activities but that smart phone has more appeal, etc.

The absurdities of this story aside I am totally baffled by how ridiculous these college freshman moms have gotten, they act as if they are sending their kids to the first day of 6th grade not fricking college, though idk why I'm surprised

Hell when I left for school 20 years ago I sort felt like I was pampered bc my dad was nice enough to let me use his enclosed trailer to haul my furniture down there that I then had to get buddies help me unload once there. I had to go to Walmart and buy all the shite I needed which thanks to dad's credit I feel ridiculous even pretending to bitch about that. These idiots prolly pay movers to move their college sons, wild times

I mean god help me I had to actually go to the electric company office and get the power bill put into my name, would these kids be able to even conceive of such requirements?

It’s cautious of his mom to do this, but it’s not helpful.

Kid could be sent off to war at this age, and he’s expected to be an independent college student building the foundation for his adult life.

Yet, he’s too inept to go buy condoms?

You can also infer the lack of assertiveness and confidence in the entire family. Mom didn’t just go buy them and throw them in there. She’s hesitant and worried to the point that she’s asking a Facebook group if this is okay. That’s odd behavior for a grown adult.
