Dallas Annexed Lake Ray Hubbard which is the largest lake completely within a single city limit
The I-30 and SH 66 bridges have “Entering Dallas City Limits” and “Leaving Dallas City Limits” road signs when you cross the lake, or at least they used to.

If I'm looking for a better place to relocate from La, neither Houston or Dallas come to mind. Texas is overrated.
The millions who have moved there are just all wrong and you are right I guess

The perimeter of the lake was in Dallas city limits until about 10 years ago. Dallas traded some property with Rockwall so Rockwall could develop a portion of their shoreline, which they did. It's a big multi use development.

Frisco, Prosper, and McKinney's identity is a bunch of hard working, conservative, christian folks who want the best for their children. It is an incredibly safe area with great city planning and some of the best public schools in the country. Plenty of great paying jobs and extremely low unemployment. Home of a AA minor team, professional soccer team, the Cowboys and PGA headquarters. Lots of great BBQ, steak houses and Mexican restaurants.
The only thing missing is extended family and LSU sports..

Yes Dallas is very brand conspicuous and some people spend a shite ton to put on airs. There is also a lot of old money in Dallas and a lot of new money to still be made.
Dallas proper? Super rich super privileged white people. Many of the men tend to think they’re country boys because they wear very expensive luchasse boots and have an expensive cowboy hat and bolo tie that they wear to fancy occasions. These guys “hunt” high fence places. They’ve never rode a horse. Never worked cattle. Never put up fence. Yet they’re wearing a cowboy hat and boots in the 4th largest city.
That aspect is a joke. These types pretend like their part of Texas is the same as rural Texas. It’s a slap in the face to actual cattlemen and families that ranch/farm for a living going back generations. Dallas culture is closer to Los Angeles Chicago and Atlanta than it is to rural Texas. Stop the fraud games.

Dallas is extremely pretentious and the absolute worst part of Texas and it’s not particularly close. I would live in Midland before I lived in Dallas.

I live in the city and almost never see someone wearing a cowboy hat. Now over in Ft Worth, there are some urban cowboys.

Maybe you should go over there and tell them how to dress!
I wouldn’t be caught dead in a cowboy hat, but god forbid someone likes a hat because they like hats.
Then there’s you. Whining about the way people dress on an Internet forum. Real cowboy stuff.
