I had this very same pain a few years ago. Turned out to be a kidney stone. See a Urologist.

Go see a urologist bc you never know.

If you have back issues, that can cause discomfort.

I have this. It used to be after I worked out and lifted heavy. My right ball would hurt. Went thru all kinds of tests. Sonogram, Prostrate fingering, etc. After everything was ruled out, the doc said it was related to my back issues bc there is a nerve passing there. Now I’m old and lazy so it isn’t an issue anymore bc I don’t lift heavy shite unless I have to do it.

I'm 50 and have had chronic back pain for 10+ years.

Never did this before.

The discomfort does feel like it touches on the left one every now and then too.
also sensitive to the touch.

Not pain, but sensative.

I really was thinking it was some type of hernia from the coughing fits... we'll see I guess.

Sounds like epidymitis ( like your case I had no pain urinating/ejaculating/no visible signs something was wrong such as color change or anything else)

Had this last year.. scared me as I have immediate family history of testicular cancer and fit most of the diagnostic criteria

Went to urologist and he did his exam and he massaged the cord that was clearly inflamed and I abiut jumped out of the building it hurt so bad

Got some doxycycline and 600mg ibuprofen and it cleared up in a few days

Fast forward to this year and February. Same thing. Woke me up in the dead of sleep with shooting pain in my left testicle. Took some ibuprofen and it went away

However this time it lingered for weeks ( which I found out it can do) and I took a bunch of ibuprofen and Tylenol and some cold compresses and a sock tucked under my scrotum for some extra support to help the inflammation and finally it went away .

Definitely & seriously go see a doc and good luck.
Because this is OT, ask for a test with a transometer.

Are you sure your wife isn't thumping you in the nuts while you sleep? Did you make her mad recently?

Sounds like epidymitis, just like Lawyered and others have said. It’s an infection of your teste tube.

Initially feels like you’ve been thumped as you said, a lingering, throbbing pain. Followed by a dull ache.

They’ll do an ultrasound when you go to your appointment, they’ll be able to make sure it’s that and not torsion.

Had a severe case after a vasectomy… bad pain and swelling. It took anti inflammatories to get the swelling down and anti biotics to knock out the infection.

It sucks, but eventually it’ll go away.

Exactly. Hire a hooker. If that does not take care of it the doctor can check for STD’s when he looks for tortional alignment.

Thanks for all the replies. Made the appt for Tues. If it gets bad this weekend, I'll go to an urgent care.

We're yours senstive to touch? I guess they have to be when they hurt like that.

I thought I may have been squishing it while sleeping and made it hurt and inflamed something up in there.

I’ve had on again/off again pain in my right testicle for the last 2 years following hernia surgery due to a hydrocele that has formed. Doc says it’s normal to get a hydrocele after hernia surgery.

I had a vasectomy about 6 months ago and get a similar random pain every few weeks or so, radiates for a minute or so then goes away. Seems to be directly related to having the vasectomy though as I hadn’t experienced this prior to… good luck getting it resolved though, the pain is definitely not fun even if it is brief!
