Charging isnt a real big issue on trips as the car plans stops for you, and you can stop to rest or eat in the 20 minutes it takes to charge up.

The biggest issues we’ve had, as previously stated, are the tires not lasting long, maybe 25k miles because of how heavy teslas are, and the bigger issue, if you have an issue with the car, good luck getting an appointment in new orleans in a reasonable amount of time. We had a charge port issue that wouldnt allow the car to move, but it took 3 weeks to get an appt. LA lawmakers need to let them have more service centers in this state

It’s a no-brainer vehicle given we have a fleet of ICE vehicles. AWD is very grippy and fast (there are a couple spots where I have to pull out on the highway at the bottom of a blind hill, and redneck retards enjoy going 70+ in a 45 over it and then almost rear-end people. No more. I’m floor it to get a safe distance then watch Ricky Ray Ramtard pass slackjawed).
Our house has solar panels when we bought it. Normal usage is a ripoff by the power co. But we funnel it to the car.
Free charging at our favorite nearby state park and various places around town (I have some secret spots near places we go).
And superchargers and hotel chargers make road trips easy. Plus I can charge at campsites. I am turning our Y into a mobile office/camper.
Hybrid foam/air mattress custom fit to the Y, fridge in the sub trunk, climate controlled obviously. Tent/fly too.

I got it at 0% interest to help offset depreciation. And the price was about like a well-equipped RAV-4. FSD is the real deal. It isn’t perfect. But it takes the edge off of driving and frees me up to scan for deer etc (big problem around here).

Also, yes, I’m a giant f@ggot.

Mine is very low to the ground, which occasionally scrapes. Also I wish I could get a little more mileage out of road trips… but I don’t mind topping off every 2 hours at Buccees. For the trade off - not actually driving at all - is very much worth it. I can legitimately pee every 2 hours. Plus get some coffee or water, and an occasional snack.

I can’t really describe what it’s like riding in it. It feels like you’re in a space ship. And if you want to actually pilot it, it can zip in and out of traffic like a motorcycle.

First off, no one drives 400 miles from 100% charge to 0% charge. That's not how it works. You hit 20% battery life and shite starts turning off inside the car and you'll start getting range anxiety real quick and pull over at the first super charger.

Second, it's recommended to keep your battery at 80% all the time to maintain healthy batteries and unless you're super OCD you'll likely forget to change to 100% charge the night before a long trip. I can't count the number of times I "meant" to open the app and change it. Yeah I'm old but this is just another thing to forget when you've got 50 other things going on.

Put those 2 things together and you just took 160 miles off the range table and you're looking at 240 miles of real world range.

So there you have it. It's not an ICE vehicle where you can drive it until the orange low fuel light is on and you're on the E because you know there's always a gas station 2 miles up the road.

This is from experience. I took it down to 0 percent one time due to an unfortunate series of events and limped into a super charger and my wife never got over that. She was losing her shite because we were in the middle of nowhere.

Car advertised 300 mile range.

Forgot to increase the charge from 80 to 100 the night before so I did it when I woke up and it was only at 86% when we left the house.

Drove from Nashville to Manchester to grab my father in laws son to go with us to Cumberland caverns and had no time to charge because the last cave tour was 30 minutes later so we drove straight to cave.

Tesla said we could make it 7% to spare to nearest charger when we turned it off to go into the cave.

Got back and it said we would have 4% left.

Started trying to get back to civilization and the estimate kept getting worse until it was at 0% and we were still 3 miles away.

Yeah yeah laugh at cad because the smart Tesla owners on this board would never let this happen to them. Cad is a shitty electricity filler upper.
