I'm 60 and never once ran out of gas in my entire life unlike that situation that happened 6 months into EV ownership.

Owned mine for 8 years and didn’t take it in for a service until year 7. I guess it’s not a luxury car but I definitely enjoyed owning mine. Sold it last week

I got my M3 in 2018 and in 21 I had to replace the tires. Filed a warranty with Michelin and they covered 60% of my next set of Michelin. Went to Costco and got a better set and make sure to do tire rotations every 6 months/6k miles. Still doing ok, but probably need to change these in the next rotation. The free rotations from Costco make it easy. Still though, I've barely spent money on this car since buying it 8 years ago.

That electricity particularly super chargers are not cheaper than gas

Charging time would be interesting to know. And I m talking plugged in at 120v normal outlet. LIke he said for a vacation or something

It's really slow 120v. If you're going to get an electric car you have to get a 240v outlet. If I run my car down to a low % it can take 6+ hours to charge. I charge my car to 80% and still have about 225 miles with 8 years of driving the car. I have solar on my roof and a ChargePoint home station. It's great and I pay about $6/month to my utility. But even without solar you save money over buying gas.

Interesting. Yea I know you would need a home charging port and many of my neighbors have them and I see those charging stations in their garage. But I was thinking of being at a VRBO or something and not being home. If I plug it up at night and let it charge, how much would it give it in a day.
I have not driven one but honestly, it would be a great vehicle for my wife. She only uses her car to drive around town and go back and forth to work which is 10 miles away. Other than that, we use my truck as our family vehicle. Electric would be fine for her.

120v is very slow (3, maybe 4 miles of range per hour). I have used it, however at airbnb's in Gatlinburg, beach condos, and other places I've traveled if there weren't other charging options available and it was fine.
I've owned my Model 3 for 4.5 years and taken a lot of road trips. The Tesla navigation pretty much does everything for you with regards to superchargers, but I still like to pre-plan before I go anywhere.
While a stop at a supercharger is certainly longer than filling up with gas, you have to factor in the time you're saving in a typical week or month by having the convenience of charging at home. For someone that lives in an apartment complex or other area where level 2 charging isn't available, I would not recommend one.
There are definitely pros and cons, but I've enjoyed mine as it's a fun car to drive, and I'd get another one.

My charger is a bit older and is 32A so it charges about 30 miles/hr. I've never used 120v but I think I read it's about 5 miles/hr?

You definitely have to plan out trips and where you will charge. You really don’t need to do that with gas. You will find yourself driving off route for charging as well.
You can load up the navigation with all your stops and it will manage finding chargers. IE you want to drive out to Hatteras Island you should enter all your stops and definitely add a stop back near civilization where you can charge after you leave.
In a gasser you could theoretically have any tow guy bring you a couple gallons in a pinch. In an EV you will need to get towed to a charger.
Even at superchargers you’ll be sitting for 20 minutes. It doesn’t sound much but it can definitely test your patience at times.
If you can charge at home, hitting a supercharger every once in a while is really not a big inconvenience.
ETA Hatteras has a bunch of superchargers.
