Came back from deployment and one of the guys on my boat went home to find out his wife had been fricking some other guy. He put his 2 young children in a closet, shot his wife, and then shot himself.

The end.

I know most military servicemen end up having completely normal lives both while in the service and after they get out; however, I hear some really, really fricked up stories from people who joined up. This thread is just the latest example.

Sort of a Jody story.

My first few years with my company I was on the projects team, basically I was out for 6 weeks back for a week. My first project was in Laredo, Texas. My FIL, who travels very frequently for work offered to take me to the airport. On the way he gave me some fatherly advice (my father passed away when I was 11). Anyway right before I left he said look, do you know about Jody, which at that point I had no idea. He said all of the seasoned guys will mess with you, tell you how Jody is banging your wife, etc, do not let it bother you or they will eat you up.

So not 10 minutes after I got to site the jokes started running in, and I just responded that "well if Jody is there, he better cut the grass and wash the car". Everyone laughed and we moved on. Had my FIL not warned me I might have gotten worked up, and construction guys are ruthless. Which brings me to story two:

A couple of weeks later we got a new engineer, fresh out of UCLA. His first day, the Jody jokes started pouring in and he got HEATED. Started yelling, calling his wife. He ended up calling his service manager, demobing that day, and resigning within the week.

TL:DR FIL warned me not to let Jody jokes bother me. New engineer got so worried about Jody he quit his job.

One of my friends was having family problems. He got a hotel room on the 10th floor and took a flying leap off the balcony.

Crazy shite happens in the military all the time... and usually has something to do with family life outside of work.

Yeah, it was an incredible tale. I was appointed as a summary court officer to account for the personal effects of a Soldier who had drowned while assigned to the replacement detachment. When I asked my legal counsel how to perform my duties (you are not taught this as a young lieutenant), he handed me the summary case file for the Joe who was stabbed to death. Told me to follow the same format.

He was just protecting his daughter's best interests so that she could be with Jody without you worrying about it.

Is it a "Jody" story when your buddy's gf turns out to be an escort?

Someone finds our friend's GF on Backpage
They tell our friend
He pulls up the ad, screencaps it and waits til she gets home

Upon walking through the door he tells her, you have one chance to tell the truth, "Have you cheated"

She lies, and he immediately emails the Backpage ad to her parents and a few friends

On my submarine, the dirtiest, knuckledraggers on the boat were Machinist Mates (A-gangers).

They really liked to frick each other's wives

Three weeks into basic training at Ft McClellan (1980's), I get a dear John letter saying that I had been replaced by a good friend of mine. About a couple of weeks later, I called home and found out that my friend dumped her, I guess he didn't like what he was getting or whatever. Anyway, I get another letter from her saying that she fricked up, bla, bla, and wanted to see if we could get back together. I never responded, moved on with my life.

used to know of some guys in two Eagle squadrons in Germany, when one squadron was deployed the other became the Jody for the guys that were gone and vice versa, they would trade off depending on who was gone and who was at home, what's even weirder is most of them seemed to know what was going on

It's a sad mountain of stories, really.

You hear stories about the local singles bars being crowded with young married babes looking for strange D every time a unit is deployed or in the field.

And these young babes's marriages are fairly new marriages.

Don't ask me what causes this phenomenon. I was involved in such things only from the perspective of an officer trying to manage and suppress the phenomenon.

There WAS a nice little escort service near Bragg that offered dates with their girls, many of them local married women. CID shut that down and ruined all of the fun and extra income. IMHO, having the young women working it at an escort service for extra money is a LOT better then having them crowd the single's bars giving it away for free. Am I wrong?

I mean, imagine the possibilities.

This happened to me. I'm at a club near base and this OT 8 is all over me on the dance floor. Gearing up to go on and take her home when she tells me her husband is deployed and she needs some dick.

Said "that's fricked up" and walked away. Just not worth it.

young enlisted guys do some stupid shite, can't recall how many instances of some young dorky dude, never been away from home, never been laid, joins the military because he's got nothing else to do, ends up marrying the first slut that lets him put his dick in her, many times it's a stripper with a couple of kids fathered by some other young dumbasses, situation perpetuates itself

Not a military Jody story, but an oilfield one.

College friend moves up to the ND area (I believe) to start saving up for a life with his then fiance (is it a Jody if not married?). Good guy, working to move back home and have some money saved up after the wedding. SIX WEEKS before moving home an article hits the paper in Monroe about a teacher sleeping with a 15 or 16 year old student. Yep, it was his wife. Strangely enough, they did not get married.

When I was an instructor at Ft. Knox I was at the NCO Club one night when a ruckus broke out in the parking lot. The first we know of anything going on was the MPs pulling up with sirens blazing. We go outside to see what was going on. We see her screaming a whaling while another guy (the husband from what I was told) is being hauled off in cuffs. As for Jody he’s shirtless and his face is covered in blood while he holds a towel to his nose. Apparently, from what other bystanders told us, the husband came in from the field to find his wife was not home. He came there and saw their car in the parking lot where he found his wife riding Jody’s dick like a champ.

True but this....

means women were trashy to begin with IE they were dependos..more trashy is this

have no doubt that they seduced the two guys, the two Jodys, and they paid the price with divorces. But the two Jodys were taken to the NC beach not far from Bragg (where we were stationed) and they were beaten pretty badl

I support our military baws but I'm gonna let you in on a secret that not all NCOs can tangy with every non military baw. I don't care if you just got back from deployment. The broad was trashy and you should let it go. Many of my friends are military and the repercussions to your career etc are not worth killing Jody . But when you get out if ole Jody pops up. Well...

Not sure if it’s true or Urban Legend but I’ve heard on multiple occasions a story of a Joe that brought Jody’s severed head to her at the hospital while she was in labor.
