Lee Harvey Oswald lived in Covington briefly in his younger days.
The Oswald family is actually from St. Tammany. They have their own road which had a bunch of family homes on it off Hwy. 21 north of Abita.

You talking like way the hell up towards Angie?
There's an area called Red Bluff between Covington and Folsom on Highway 25. I have some cousins who live there.

I miss Mandeville when it was full on trees in the early 90s. The post office, Walgreens, PAC, Barnes and Noble, etc were all forest.

Anyone remember the skating ring that burnt down, Sillyville, or the burger and shake joint in Madisonville?

I liked it in mid to late 90s when PAC and Barnes and Nobles along with that shopping center got built in. Around 2005 when they built that Target and Movie Theater shopping center is when the boom started I think.

Was the skating rink directly across from CHS where that concrete slab is currently? I miss Video Biz behind the McDonalds in Mandeville and Major Video by Smoothie King. Are you referring to Putt Putt across from MHS?

Louis prima's, I have no idea what the name of the course was.
I do remember riding my go kart there when it closed.

Putt Putt was sweet. The skating rink(Adventure Skate) off 59 was cool back in the day. Don't think it lasted that long though. Turned into a church.

Yes, the slab is where RK burnt down. Perry's putt putt was in downtown covington a block off Boston. this was all early ,mid 80's. I'm 44.
Badeauxs drive inn was on the corner of 21st and Tyler where the CVS is now.

Mandeville had a Dairy Queen with a giant drawbridge for kids to play on.

Thursdays right? We might know each other then. My parents were always dragging us kids in there for steak night.
And what was that other burger joint right before Crazy Johnny's that had line dancing and a handful of arcades?

And I can add that when my dad and uncle were both single, they'd go to lingerie night at the Covington Pub. I think the first beer I ever had in a bar was at that place across the street next to the courthouse. I was 12 or 13

About a mile from the old White Kitchen restaurant. There's a fan-created roadside memorial at/near the spot.
