It’s slowed down considerably. Listen to the earnings calls by travel and restaurant companies. Hilton, Brinker, United, Delta, Yum Brands.
2-3 years ago the front of the plane was selling out before the back of the plane. Not since March, have I had to change my intended day to fly because good seats weren’t available days before flying. Same goes for restaurant reservations in most cities.

I can tell from the businesses I own that people don’t have the money they did 2-3 years ago.

lol that’s just not true. The average American has higher real weekly earnings now than they did 2-3 years ago. We had terrible inflation 2-3 years ago so I have no idea why you’d pick that data point.

No one cares about your anecdotal evidence. Maybe your businesses just suck.

For a lot of folks, they’re looking to flip for more money. Ya know, capitalism.

Anecdotal…I have noticed that the nicer restaurants we go to in Baton Rouge are still as booked and busy as ever. Still need a reservation days in advance if you want Ruth’s Chris (or similar) at a reasonable hour.

The fast casual options like Chipotle, Izzo’s, or even the fast food joints are much less busy than usual.

When I travel to other parts of the country, I am seeing a similar trend. Mid and higher end stuff are still busy. Lower and fast casual stores are less busy. I’m sure this is neighborhood specific though. I have heard rumblings that the quality from the major distributors (Cisco, GFS) are lower though.

Hotels are about the same, with prices still fairly high. Hard to judge here since I’m always booking a specific brand for points. If my favorites are booked I still go down the street to a similar property under the same flag.

Fuel and gas definitely lower. That’s a great thing for all of our input costs.

There is an exception. I was in Palo Alto and Stanford last week and was shocked at how many “For Lease” signs there were. Hard to tell if this is economy related because they recently closed some streets to vehicle traffic, which changes some things. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the HCOL and the tech layoffs haven’t hurt that area a little.

The people that can afford them just do the drops on the SNKRS app. I didn’t even know they still did the store thing.

Speak your mind. You obviously know nothing about the show game but want to make your racist assumptions.

Poor folks buy shoes. It’s their luxury purchase.

Going out to eat is ultimately a luxury that is easy to forgot. After mardi gras you'll see the reality of things

There is no poverty in America. In 30 years of law enforcement, I never went into the shittiest apartment or residence in the shadiest parts of the county that there wasn't a color TV and everyone had cell phones. In 95% of those instances, they had AC.

This isn’t true. I know people that don’t have cell phones or AC right now, much less 30 years ago

Nothing racist here. If you’re relying on standing in a line outside of a retail establishment for your source of income then more power to you. I can find a better ROI for my time

Possibly man. But I don’t understand the hate of someone trying to make money with all the other bs that goes on in this country.

Probably, but the ROI on some the these shoes if you get them at retail is pretty damn good. You can make $1,200 plus for a days work

"everyone" vs "a lot of people" Who really says everyone, noone, never, or always and means it literally.
