Laurel is a shite hole. Agree on Eziel's. Your best choice is probably to live in or on the outskirts of Hattiesburg....still not a great option but you could make it work. It's about 35 min or so to Laurel from Hattiesburg.

This is easy as you are from Natchez, imagine your hometown with no money, history or charm and even less to do, that is Laurel, seriously.

By far the worst mid-sized city in MS IMHO.

There is/was a show on HGTV which was a lot like Fixer Upper, but set in Laurel called Home Town. That's all I've got...

I’m from Natchez, and this is accurate. But Laurel does
have some wealth. You just have to search for it among
all the projects.
