When I was in high school we had a basketball playoff game there at Franklin High - once we got our bus parked they locked the gate behind us. Never had that happen at any other school we played at. Knew it was going to be a quick loss

It's a microcosm of a decaying town in South Louisiana with terrible schools and a rising crime. Lots of beautiful old homes a stones throw from the ghetto. It's proximity to ports and the sugar industry is keeping it from becoming completely irrelevant. Most middle class folks there send their kids to private schools or commute from Broussard/Youngsville.
