What really pissed me off is that they are now obtaining people’s number with the same area code and first three digits of your own number to call. I’m a (225) 270 xxxx and now I get so many spam calls from other (225) 270 xxxs.

Yeah, I was texting with with someone earlier who told me he has received several calls this week that are from numbers that start with the same 3 numbers as his. I haven't received any of them yet, but I have received more this week than I have.. probably ever.

Is your voicemail full? I don't get too many messages, but when I do, it's just part of some recorded message and never from the beginning. I block numbers and never pick up if I don't recognize the number.

Download Mr. Number app.

Many articles about the calls with no message or recordings. Tempting people to call the number back and you are charged fees for the calls. I’ve been receiving many from area code 226.

I just get hangup calls. I hate those because I can't even get back at them by pretending to fall for the scam.
I might forward my phone to one of the scammers so the other scammers harass them.

They have number generators now for ID that either show up in cities you might answer or phone numbers that appear to be close to your number. A little while back, the do not call registry expired and you need to resubmit. Here is the official .gov link and it’s made them all disappear for me.
FTC Do not call registry
It doesn’t take much time and there’s plenty of sites out there explaining how the old registry expired

Oh... Hi... Hello... Sorry I was just adjusting my headset are you hearing me ok?
Posted on 5/17/18 at 9:54 pm to OweO
YouMail app screens a large portion of them for me. I rarely get one. Maybe once a month.

Expired when? I just went to that link again and signed up and it said I had already signed up...in 2009. Which I do generally recall doing.

They started calling in the middle of the night now. Use the hiya app and they will block them, but some sneaky bastards have like a regular person's name. I'd look up the name, some dentist in Savannah. Like what the frick? frick these people.

Most times it’s just silence on the other end when I pick up. My blocked call list must be a thousand numbers now.

I mess with them. I tell them to hold on then I charge my phone and walk off, I've talked Spanish ( which I don't know) jiberish , I've told them I'm with the FBI ... I always press 1 yo talk to them. I've had a few curse me
Posted on 5/17/18 at 10:19 pm to OweO
After constantly getting their calls and not answering I finally started answering. Most at least give the option to press 1 to be removed. Now, I don't know if they are really removing me, but it still feels nice to hit 1.
The ones where they just hang up or there's no one there do still annoy me though.

I got a call from the same group 4 times last week. On Thursday, I told the chick I would hunt her down. Slit her throat. frick her new throat pussy. Video the whole thing and send it to her family and friends while telling them what a failure, pile of shite whore of a telemarketing slut she is.
They haven’t called this week.

I am and have always been on no call last list and I am getting 5 a day
Posted on 5/17/18 at 10:30 pm to OweO
Yeah I got four calls from 225 numbers yesterday in the span of a few hours. They’re using phone numbers from your area so you’ll be more likely to pick up. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t answer unless it’s from a contact. If you call and don’t leave a message it must have not been important.

My phone has been blowing up the last few days as well.

That’s hard to do if you have kids or often get work related calls from people not in your contacts.
If there is a town identified for the incoming call and it’s outside of where I would get a work/family call, I let it go.
If there is no town identified, I feel like I need to answer.
I get a lot from Rayville for some reason so I can let a lot of mine go. I live 2 hours from Rayville and have no reason anyone would call me from there. That cuts out a big chunk of them for me.

Idiots are you who answer and "waste their time".
It's all an automated system.
If you answer the phone and more than 5 seconds go by without you hanging up, you go on the SPECIAL LIST and your phone number gets called 100x more than if you just ignore the calls.
This is a fact.
