I was on a flight a couple of months ago and a kid (maybe a college freshman/sophomore) sat beside me with a classic CBGB tee on. I thought this might lead to some interesting conversation. Turns out she had no idea who Hilly Kristal was, no idea CBGB was even a club much less being in Manhatten or on the Bowery. We never even got to Television, The Ramones, Blondie, or the fact the Dolls didn't perform there until the mid-90s.
I realized then many of these tees are just worn ironically.

My Granddaughter wears 70's and 80's band shirts, and Nirvana shirts. Her bedroom looks like a 70's rock fans room.
