It's crazy that from the 80's to 2000 there was basically zero violent crime on Bourbon. Yes there were fist fights amongst drunks but not stabbings and shootings. NOPD ruled with an iron fist and, yes they violated the shite out of people's Civil Rights on occasion, but you weren't in danger. Then the Consent Decree and body cams came along and now it is a free fire zone with monthly shootings.

Yep, when I was young and dumb it was well known that you didn't frick around with the NOPD, especially in the FQ. They were very visible back then and shut down any trouble with the quickness. Today, you can spend a lot of time in the FQ and not see a uniformed NOPD officer. They are instead relying on cameras to catch perps after the fact. A poor substitute for prevention and maintaining order.

Well yeah. You read the OP? There were MULTIPLE homicides on and immediately off of Bourbon last year. That used to never happen.

Felt like multiple homicides in the vicinity of bourbon last year was a bit different than free fire zone with monthly shootings on bourbon since the consent decree.

Wow, so he went from throwing backwards passes for the Saints to being the spokesman for New Orleans Emergency Medical Services?

Eta: I see others made this observation as well.

One form of crime isn’t better than the other. Is it too much to ask that we have a city free of all crime?

White racism? I believe that‘s their explanation for all negative aspects of NOLA cultcha.

Hopefully Jason can get that girl out of lockup so she doesn't miss any school Monday.

It could really send her down the wrong path.
