I have not been a huge fan of UPS. It seems like if no one is home you never get your package delivered. I know their drivers do a good job most of the time and I respect anyone's right to form and a join a union.

But if you hate unions just realize that baseball players and basketball players have better contracts and make more money have more money guaranteed even though the NFL is more popular. The NBA union and the MLB union are stronger. If FB players would ever hold to their union and actually go a strike they would make better money.

You realize that the NFL has significantly larger rosters than both the NBA and MLB right?

I used to work for UPS and the only good positions are driving tractor trailers and shifting on the yard. Any other position, you will be miserable. Some of the freight they handle and are expected to handle in certain ways is ridiculous. And for those defending the union, the union is ok with this and really do not give a frick about the employees. It's all about the money to the reps and stewards. They know the more the employees make, the more they make. They don't give a shite about the hourlies killing themselves for it.

Y'all know my opinion on this. Unions have more negative societal repercussions economically than terrorists and wars combined. We are all victims to them in the form of higher prices, inefficiency, outsourcing, and a weaker job market. and in this case, halting our economy--literally holding us hostage. Time to blow these frickers up.

If you bring value to a company, they will treat you right...or their competitors will.

Yes, With 32 teams and about 53 man rosters that is about 1,696 players. If over 300,000 Teamsters at UPS can pull off a strike then the FB players should. Previous NFL strikes collapsed because too many players crossed the lines. NFL careers are shorter and injuries seem to have a bigger impact on careers.

But it's mainly the shorter careers in the NFL. A one year strike or half-year strike could mean 1/4 or 1/8 of a players total career. The irony is that given the dangers of football and the more revenue the NFL gets the players union should be stronger. But too many players crossed the lines in previous strikes and NFL players seem to be the worse with money. The NBAPA wised up and made guys smarter about money.

Compared to 750 in MLB and 450 in the NBA. That’s why the average salary is less.

Median household income is $71k, so yeah I'd say $100k is a lot.

And the union leadership still won't give a flip. They will just find a new gravy train. Leadership and their blind politics have destroyed whatever their original purpose was. Union membership is in no way being fairly represented.

Maybe that’s why those idiots have said they delivered packages to my house two days in a row now. My porch is empty.

The strike is very real and I support it. UPS CEO and its shareholders got filthy rich during the pandemic while the workers worked hard and have so far saw absolutely none it.

It's no secret that the drivers get paid well. $42hr is the current top out rate in 4 years. That's not what this strike is about. It's about getting part timers better pay. Those are the ones loading/unloading semi trailers and the brown trucks. That's no easy job.

I'd like to see you go load 4-5 semi trailers in the middle of the summer and tell me these people don't deserve higher wages. They are the backbone of the company.

Laborers are always the backbone. That's the way it is. I work in a metals plant, I guarantee our job is hotter than being a UPS driver. They also make more money.

It's not just about being hot. It's the physicality of the job too. Lifting items up to 150lbs. Back to back to back 5-6 days a week......
