There are directional and LWD tools rated to 210C (410F). You can knock off 20 degrees of the BHT circulating with mud coolers.

As of six months ago, there was a rig (land rig) drilling in S Louisiana drilling about that deep. They can't complete them though. Said it could be 20 years before we have the technology to complete.

Here's the problem with that...at those depths you have temps and pressures above what your equipment is rated for.

410F still seems relatively cold compared to the mantle. I mean, 400+ degrees is all that is required to create medium grade metamorphic rock. Where as, the mantle is going to be molten.
I have a feeling they're going to trip back out to see this on the end of their string...

It's not just drill pipe... It's food, fuel, material and supplies, and rotating crews. Wouldn't you agree that the logistics of drilling in the Mariana Trench would be significantly more challenging than in in landlocked or near shore rift zone? But the logistical challenges don't even really matter, as I'm fairly certain that 35,000' of water is well beyond our present day deep water drilling technology. Perhaps one of our O&G posters can clarify...

Yeah, you may be right. Would be a nightmare. They would have to make the facility really nice so the crews would be cool working for a month or more straight.

The living quarters could be operated by Ritz-Carleton, but if current technology can "only" drill in depths up to around 10,000', you're going to be SOL in 35,000'.
