I'm fine with going back. The kids are less of a problem for me than the adults, parents and co-workers alike. Sometimes it sucks to be one of the "responsible" people at a job site.

I’ve heard truckers and teachers can shut this country down… that’s pretty self righteous…

My wife, when she was teaching, used to get pissed at me if I counted down to the first LSU game. It reminder her that school was restarting.

I subbed for her a few time in EBR schools, even in 2nd grade, if you turned your back on the little hood rats they would kill each other.

Husband should have told her the truth and called her an obesity.

I’m not a teacher but I am not looking forward to school being back in. Traffic in Houston gets noticeably worse when school is in.

not all. wifey is ready to go back.

she had a list of things she wanted to get done around the house, got them all done, she spent a ton of time with our kids, and went on 2 vacations. She does in fact hate the 2 weeks of training and staff meetings leading up to the kids returning tho.

Damned! Then y’all own kids must be insufferable!

I know the cops are excited to pass out speeding tickets in the school zones for the first week of school and then not police them again until next year.

Been around the kid a few times, no one is out to get him. It's obvious to everyone who is not directly related. BTW, mom is 5 feet, 250lbs and just blew a gasket because her husband called her fat.

Teacher here, that’s one of my favorite lines from parents, “you’re targeting my child!”. I have to explain to them, no I’m not, in fact I look the other way on a lot of things your kid does because I don’t want to deal with you. If I speed by a cop everyday they will start to look out for me, they’re not targeting me, I’m putting myself in that situation, but that logic is lost on many people.

I’m a teacher and just got back from a trip I always take toward the end of summer. When I get back I’m pumped to get the school year started. This will be year 19.

I know someone who did three years in inner city schools fresh out of college. She was idealistic. It was a rude awakening -- and dangerous, too. There were a few good teachers who cared and tried to teach, but many were washed up, cynical old teachers who were just going through the motions until they could retire. They didn't care about teaching, and the majority of the students didn't care about learning.

It's hard to blame those teachers in a sense, they were put into a near impossible situation trying to teach kids whose home life was often a wreck and working for administrators who were just trying to fudge the numbers enough to get them to a better school. The teachers got little or no support from the administrators.

It's a vicious cycle of turning out kids with little or no future.

Been working with her for 2 school years. Two different teachers, song remains the same. I imagine when school starts back in a few days, I'll get to hear how the new teacher is out to get him.

I did it in NOLA my first year out of college. A lot of it was what you’d expect but most of the kids are no different than any other kids in that they’ll still do the work and be respectful if you can find a way to make the schoolwork fun/relatable and are fair and respectful towards them. You have to really set the rules and stick with them though with those type of kids because once those are bent even just a little you’re fricked. It’s not a job I could do long term.

I was a teacher and my wife has been one for 15 years - it’s not necessarily the working part (which does suck) but it’s the inservice meetings which make you want to blow your own brains out that really suck.
