it's not difficult. my wife has been a teacher for 4 years in Inner City Houston. She's gotten several kids booted or moved classes for this and many other reasons.

Anecdotal
I'm not saying her claims are 100% valid, but your wife's personal experience 2000 miles away mean nothing.
And we also don't know if she went to the district or not.

not so fast.....sounds like she's tried to fix the situation with administration. I suspect this is, in fact, an inner-city public climate and there are likely some pretty sketchy characters doing it. the same age/type that have car-jacked, murderered, etc. don't be dismissive in this case.

Fun fact: HFT is one of the only songs (well, THE only that I know of actually) that has an uncensored F word in the song. It's actually right after the line I posted up top "I brought my penciiiillll...gimme somethign to write on man!" Then one of the other band members says "frick man" in the background. If you're listenign for it it's clearly audible. Not sure why radio stations have never bothered to edit it out but whatevs.

She's a teacher, she is meant to teach the kid the subject, not raise the damn kid to be a good person. This is on the parents for raising a shitty person.
