TD is one of the first search results for what could be a major political story

Don't want to get too far into politics on the OT obviously, but Ingeniero, a poster on Poli Talk picked up on a major story that was trending just on Reddit and 4Chan, about Paul Combetta posting on Reddit some fairly significant stuff 2 years ago in connection with the email scandal.
While Reddit is shutting down posts on the story, the National Media is finally starting to pick it up, including US News and World Report.
Even with major publications starting to report it now, and the story about to blow up, TD is still among the very first search results when someone googles "Stonetear".
That is going to bring a lot of attention to TD. Hold onto your butts.
Again, don't want to make this a political thread. Just thought this was a cool thing on a story that is about to go nuclear.

Nothing to see here. Won't be reported. Move along now...

Doesn't Google direct you to familiar sites you frequent?

Well hopefully we all don't catch suicide tomorrow once Her camp finds out.

the way the google algorithm works is sites you frequent that have the content you are searching for come up before other sites you haven't visited.
I found this out when I was wondering why my company always came up #1 on my search but barely at all on other searches.
While it may really link here it would be easier to tell from someone with not TD.com cookies.

Google sorts results by your browsing history
Chances are it isn't on the first page of someone who has never been to this site

You are aware Google tailors your results based on your location and your activity, right? Basically you are either in South Louisiana or frequent Tigerdroppings, or both. They want to present the results you are looking for near the top so if you often search for stuff matching tigerdroppings, then they will push that to the top.

I actually googled it from a computer I never access TD on just for shits. Still came up.

Nothing will come of this, just like everything else she's done.

Google is giving you TD as a result because you go to TD a lot.
When I do Google searches on a lot of things I get really high TD results that wouldn't make sense otherwise.

Like I said I googled it from a computer I can't recall ever visiting TD from, and it still came up.
Maybe I used it to visit TD a long time ago and just can't recall, so you could be right.

TD didn't come up at all for me when I Googled.
US News & World Report is covering the story, though.

How people still don't get this is beyond me.
