Me: All men are created equal. We must judge people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. America in 2020 is the land of equal opportunity. Anyone can make it if they try. It's not perfect, but everyone has problems.
Every leftists I talk to: You only say that because of your white privilege. Black people are too stupid or too pathetic on their own to make it so we must have the government afford them special advantages over whites and Asians. After all whites and Asians are naturally smarter and thus don't need help.

"White guilt" and "white privilege" means that you believe whites have something, that blacks simply cannot have. It's the "systemic" thing.
In order to believe that, you have to believe that blacks are, by nature, an underclass, and need special assistance to bring them up to the level of whites (or more appropriately, bring whites down to their level).
It's hard for me to think of a more racist construct than that one.
Do I think black people still experience discrimination at various points in their lives? Yes, absolutely. But I don't think the whole of the white race is out to get the whole of the black race.
I'd much rather we address the specific instances of racism as they happen, as that might actually accomplish something.

100% correct.
If there is systemic racism against blacks it’s by democrats since 1965 subsidizing the destruction of their families and neighborhoods and treating them like disabled children instead of fully equal adults and further attacking anyone who dares question their insane racism.

Is there a definition for "white guilt" or is just a lazy term applied to any white person that expresses empathy for the struggles other races sometimes face? Because I have the latter, but have never felt guilty for being born white.

Actual white guilt is relatively rare and is racist. But what this board generally refers to as "white guilt" is awareness that racism has historically and currently plays a major role in society. Which is the reality. The racism deniers are just as racist and deluded as the true white guilt people, just from the other end of the spectrum. I guess this is what one might call horseshoe theory.
