White guilt is arrogance and condescension masked as concern. It signaling to the world that you aren't like those rubes over there, you're better than them. Your average white-guilt liberal is someone who most likely grew up in a lily-white enclave of the Northeast or West Coast and whose lifetime interactions with people of color are dwarfed by whites in the South in a month.

I think he's asking why someone would feel the urge to demonstrate how "not racist" to advance their feelings of self-worth if they weren't trying to address some kind of psychological weight that they personally have.

Nah, they're just easily manipulated losers who want to feel like they're part of some noble fight against something. They've been told that if they prostrate themselves before these activists they're contributing to the extermination of some intangible evil.

True. The default position of the white guilt liberal moron is to believe in the inferiority of other races and the superiority of whites. Being "woke" reinforces their own feelings of superiority. White guilt is literally a white supremacist mindset.

Conversely, you could argue the most vocal online voicing of anti-liberalism is equally if not more insecure. People run in packs and in person with their pack, they can express their feelings in a way they would never express in mixed company. Just like here. There is a pack mentality for both SJW and Right. In reality, each thinks "how dare they think they're as good or as "woke" as I am..." but don't have the chest to voice it IRL. Observe and report? Yes. Speak out and ruin the facade? Rarely.

So "white guilt" is not real? It's just posturing?

You said it's a form of trying to prove to the social media world that they are better... maybe we're talking about different types of "white guilt" social media posts so the whole premise of what I'm saying is probably off. The ones I see are people sharing that they've learned something or expanded their worldview. It almost sounds like you begrudge self-improvement.

No they're arrogant and sanctimonious. Guilt is the wrong word, they get a rush from the approval garnered for being a good white and haranguing bad whites. They feel no guilt

You can’t choose your relatives.

Why would I feel guilty for being born white ? I don’t and never have.

I didn’t have anything to do with it !

They also get a rush from demonizing people who don't but into it. It's no different than radical religious types who demonize non believers and apostates.

That is admirable

I think we are discussing different types of people

I am talking about blind followers that are quick to attach to trend and hash tags just as a "hey...look at me" mindset. Then they go on about their vapid lives without any substantial change.

White guilt people are just people who think they are somehow morally superior. They do this with every movement, whatever the flavor of the month is.

It's textbook definition racial discrimination these racist exhibit.

"the belief that different races possess distinct characteristics, abilities, or qualities, especially so as to distinguish them as inferior or superior to one another."

Yet they like to point out that everyone else is racist like they have some moral high ground.

I would say most folks, regardless of race are 60% or greater act one way in public than they practice in private.

Some people definitely. It wouldn't be accurate to throw a blanket statement like that over an issue like this.

That's not the converse of what I said. In fact, that's a complete non sequitur.

for a lot of them it is absolutely the case of "one doth protest too much."
