You sound like the kind of person who bitches when people prep to avoid disaster but then bitches just as much if a known incoming disaster is made 10 times worse b/c nobody prepped.

devastating - not for me. For others it’s pretty close to disaster

A lot of working class people needed those tips, businesses needed the cash flow, and projects and films were going to be debuted.

Last year, sxsw brought in 353.9 million dollars to Austin businesses.

Covid only kills people over 70 and you have to be older than 70 to go to Jazzfest

Good. Non essential travel should be limited until we get a vaccine. Keep out old people safe.

Yet Houston - where there are confirmed cases - is still having Rodeo.

Lot of people going to lose a lot of money here. It sucks for them. This is a huge event for the Austin economy.
