Agreed on 0% rates. IF the federal government just has to remain involved (which I opposed completely), they need to peg the max interest rate to the fed funds rate.
IF fedgov is going to be giving/guaranteeing the loans, ostensibly to aid people getting an education and not saddling them with crippling debt, they should not be charging 7-10% interest rates.

Well Tennessee decided a few years ago going communist was a good thing and we just started giving 2 years free college for any adult that has never attended colllege to go to a community college. It’s a good program and we appreciate it.
Two years at a community college to prove youre worthy isnt what this topic is covering at all.

This decision will guarantee Biden’s reelection. The Democrats will get the youth vote with this and the Roe v Wade reversal.
It was a political ploy from the start, and I don’t doubt that youths with their still developing brains will fall for it just like the trans crap.
A sign of the political motive with 18 to 25 year olds was allowing forgiveness with students still in college. Students (starting with sophomores I think) who hadn’t had to start paying back loans yet due to still being full time students were included in the blanket forgiveness.
It was set up to get challenged, to fail, and to use politically.
That most of the media and 3 Supreme Court justices (including the woman who can’t define a woman) went along with Biden should scare any adult that’s not a leftist hack to vote to remove Democrats even if that means you have to vote for someone in 2024 that you don’t like personally.

I'm okay with this decision. I do think it's strange that an 18 year old can sign up for life-changing amounts of debt that may follow them forever, but can't buy a pack of cigarettes though. I probably fall more along the lines of making 18 the threshold for everything.
However, if you're cheering this on and have no issue with how the PPP loan forgiveness went down, you're a hypocrite plain and simple. The only difference is who the free money went to.

So legally and morally correct decisions should not be rendered because of fear of reprisal?
If that’s the case, then why not just give the leftist the authoritarian government they so longingly crave?

Only if you completely ignore the fact that PPP loans only existed because the government unconstitutionally forced businesses to shutdown and employees to go without the ability to earn wages.
So, in other words, the two have nothing to do with one another.

quote:in my honest opinion this should be grounds for immediate removal from the court. This was very obviously unconstitutional from the start. There shouldn’t have even been a debate. A justices role isn’t to play politics, it’s to determine the legality of something. I get some things are murky but this was incredibly clear.
3 Supreme Court justices

Way more PPP fraud and somehow there aren’t near enough people clamoring about this.
PPP is why inflation on consumer goods got out of control.
Legality of the student loan forgiveness was dubious as best and PPP was legal, but from a strictly moral standpoint, PPP was legal fleecing of the American public.

Forcing one's business to close is definitely the same as willingly taking a loan to go to a college you don't need

Your business being forced to close was not a requirement for PPP loans / forgiveness. You could have had an entirely online business that thrived and still were eligible as long as you didn't lay anyone off.
Glad we could sort out this misconception you had.

Given what we now know about the PPP program it is a fricking joke anyone could say this with a straight face.
And I have no problem with SL forgiveness being shot down.

One is only a hypocrite in your example if they supported PPP loan forgiveness that wasn’t written into the law and was just made up by an executive decree.

I'm speaking towards all the "they borrowed the money so they should have to pay it back!" contingency. The principles are similar even if the inner mechanisms were different.

You know what I personally think the college system is fricked with how expensive it is and loans should be forgiven with that being said I would be far less pissed off if we didn’t just have the loans of a bunch of politicians and millionaires forgiven. A little consistency would be nice, either both loan forgiveness plans are fine or neither are
Holy run-on sentence. You sound retarded, hope you didn’t waste your money going to college. The world needs ditch diggers and that’s ok

Republicans don’t give a duck about education and never have, the whole power base in the Southern States depends on keeping people stupid and always have. Half the post on this site prove my point, and my family has been Southern GOP for over 100 years. Initially it was just fear of educating black people but over time we just decided that our best move was that the general population be as stupid and gullible as possible, which has served us well for 50 years or so now.
They worry about gay marriage and drag queens and stupid shite like that, while we pass laws to make sure they stay stupid and poor and line our pockets and our friends pockets with everything we can steal
Look at this melt!!!! fricking delicious. This is what I came here to see. I bet you were furiously typing with your limp wrist and blue hair. Love it
