dont make any movies like that now.

Read an interview with Vince Vaughn where he recently stated that studio execs won't fund a movie if it doesn't have some type of theme ie comic books, some old toy, etc. He said they did old school and wedding crashers by having a good plan but then just letting the actors do their thing. Now the execs want to indemnify themselves of any responsibility up front. It's one reason why I made my thread about men not wanting to be responsible for anything anymore. Just a life of weakness.

think most Americans can relate to that movie when they think of their teen years
they did such a good job at not making it era specific

It's not a movie about high-school in the late mid 2000s

It's a movie about high school, set in the late mid 2000s

It's only going to continue to age incredibly because every person who went to high school in this country can relate to it

It came out the summer between HS and my freshman year at LSU. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that hard in a movie theatre. A lot of it hit close to home as well

Same, and it resonates so well with me. It was the symbol of that transition in my life.

Saw it with high school buddies, then again a few weeks later with new LSU friends.

One of the greatest comedies ever made. Everything with Seth Rogan/Bill Hader was fricking gold. The whole aspect of them taking McLovin everywhere was as pure as it gets regarding comedy.

“They literally made me stop eating foods that were shaped like dicks. No popsicles, no hot dogs. You know how many foods are shaped like dicks? The best kinds!”

“She looked me in the eyes and said, ‘Seth, mom is making a pubey salad and I need some Seth’s own dressing.’ She’s DTF. Down to frick. Pee in Vagee. She wants to frick man!!”

Next to Tropic Thunder, one of the most quotable movies and a movie that you won’t see made nowadays.

Damn. I'm old. I burned a pirated version of it and watched it with a gal in my dorm. She let me smash after.
