Closed in both directions. Just saw this on WAFB
A barge with crane hit bridge, crane looks like its bent under bridge. Crews working on it now but it it'll be a while before reopening.

At least weather is good!

I used to send crane barges under that bridge all the time. This was always my biggest fear in high water.

Can't imagine how hard that must be.
News said it struck bridge about 2:00 this am. How can you even see in that darkness?!

They didn't just randomly decide to move it on a beer bet.

Moonlit nights are brighter than you think. Full moon I can almost read a book it's so light, depending on cloud cover.

DOTD advises the Sunshine bridge will be closed until it can be repaired. Time/date undetermined at this time.

Bummer.

Anyone have pics of crane stuck under bridge, please post!

So wait, is there an estimated timeline for repairs? Is the bridge damaged badly? If it’s closed for days or weeks that’s going to be a huge problem for a lot of plant workers.

Hopefully it’s open this afternoon because if not, the already nightmare of rush hour traffic on the BR bridge Friday before a big home game will be worse.

From what i heard they are not even allowing emergency personnel to cross it. It could be a long time before people are crossing it. Good thing they repainted it recently
