When they were working on it a few years ago they had people walking up the beams without a harness. I was like wtf no way I would fricking do that.

Sure looks that way. Work will need to be done from the water. Wonder if they'll have ship limitations while the work is being done. Looking at a couple cranes and barges and support vessels.

Don't bring update that nightmare. Bridge work + CF expansion made getting back to Thibodaux double the time.

They haven’t but you can figure it out by looking at the AIS.

your unfortunately right. Because there is no money behind it.

If this was some sort of major structure for a plant, and it caused a lose of money, this issue could be fixed in 5 days max.

But this is going to be a state run project, sooowe get to sit back an wait. I cross this everyday.. fml

A barge with crane hit bridge, crane looks like its bent under bridge. Crews working on it now but it it'll be a while before reopening.

There goes all that money for the Baton Rouge loop.

Watch DOTD will repair the thing and say the whole thing needs to be replaced. They can only squeeze so much out of the barge company that hit it, so LA taxpayers will have to foot the rest unless we bring back the t word on that bridge.

Not announced, but I believe it was a Marquette boat. The Kristin Alexis. Pushing the barge Mr Ervin. One of the cranes they use to unload ships. I would guess over a month for repairs.

AIS shows 3.7 knots N/B. Alternate span has lower clearance. Lucky they were not S/B as high as the river is now.
