May 19, 1994, was the last episode of In Living Color.

This show was a mainstay through my pre-teen and early-teen years. It was also the subject of much debate in my house. My dad thought it was hysterical and had no problem with me watching it. My mom thought it was crude and insane and constantly tried to tell me I couldn't watch it.

Dad and I won.

Reruns can still be found here and there.

But, I wonder - would a TV network air something like this, new episodes in 2019? Or have we become way, way too snowflake-ish?

My five fav sketches (in no particular order)

East Hollywood Squares
Homey D Clown
Fire Marshall Bill
Handi Man
Wanda

Honorable mention:
The Brothers Brothers
Homeboy Shopping Network
Men On Film

Yeah I loved it. Hell I liked a lot of the Fox lineup at that time and before. Married with Children was first. I think the Simpsons was on there. Then Martin and In Living color.

Skits making fun of straight white men or Christians would be allowed. Skids making fun of minorities, Muslims, or the handicapped would not.

Handiman was one of my favorites.

Several years ago I bought DVDs of the entire series. I figured that at some point PCness was going to ruin by editing both Blazing Saddles and In Living Color and I wanted to have guaranteed laughs as an option regardless of the offerings of cable and broadcast TV.

The “hilarious in hindsight” part of that skit is Sulu’s motivation being that he was denied all the women by Kirk, even the ugly ones.

Galactic's cover of Cult of Personality is fricking amazing. Even though you troll, Living Color was an amazing musically sound rock band. Great stuff

Include Arsenio and I watched damn near all of that. It helped that it was the channel that came in the clearest on my little tv in my room.

Amazing we use to love black comedies. The new Tyler Perry shows are so PC it’s unbearable to watch.

In Living Color connected because it was biting and vicious. Same deal with Chappelle Show.

A common thread here is that Negrodamus himself, Paul Mooney, was a huge part of both.
