Sheesh. I miss the days when you would just kick the dad’s arse so that he taught his kid a lesson.

Yep, our soft, litigious society isn’t going to be happy until we all sit alone in padded rooms and have everything delivered to us.

The fact that “legal services” are a growth industry in Louisiana is a sign of how rotten things are in this state.

Seems like a he said vs he said scenario.

Boy A said he quit the game of tag because Boy B started playing and that Boy B intentionally pushed him down and jumped on him.

Boy B said that he thought the game was still going on and accidentally fell on Boy A after Boy A stopped suddenly when Boy B was trying to tag.

Boy A says Boy B twisted his fingers. Boy B said he didn't.

Kicker for me is that these kids were 5. And at this point, what they think is true is likely based on what they've been told happened.

Also appears that Boy B has already either been kicked out or "asked to leave" St. George.

Kids are learning. A 5 year old is trying to learn their place. Even assert or find their place of dominance. They generally don’t even mean hurting as maliciously some times. Why do we expect adult like understanding/decisions from non adults?

Man, in my day this was full contact and drawing blood did not mean you drew the red card.

I would just want the expenses covered, but that part definitely isn't coming out of me.

I can't even believe shxt we did as kids in my neighborhood. We played full contact football, of course, usually in someone's yard, but every now and then, to show how tough we were, we played it in the street. Then of course there were BB gun wars. Paint ball was kinda new, but most kids had BB guns, and Christmas Story had come out but it wasn't playing 24/7 on AMC yet so none of us really knew the consequences. Then of course, my all time favorite: the trampoline, without a net!

What's the difference between a dead skunk in the road, and a dead lawyer in the road? There's skid marks in front of the skunk. f*** scumbag lawyers!

I miss those days too. But guess what happens when you do that? You get sued. There is very little upside to getting physical unless it’s absolutely necessary. It’s the world we live in.

If the kid is trying to hurt my kid and causes me specific monetary damages I am supposed to just eat it? What if there are lasting medical issues? Just supposed to suck it up?
