re: Suicide rates at all-time high driven mostly by American men.

I've lost multiple friends and acquaintances to suicide already. There's a mental health epidemic going on, especially with men. But since it's men, nobody cares, or if someone does care they are shouted down as part of the patriarchy or some other BS like that.
Breast and prostate cancer affect women and men in equal numbers. Prostate cancer kills men at the same rate as breast cancer does women, roughly 1 in 40. Breast cancer research is funded globally at roughly $2.7 billion dollars, where prostate cancer research is funded at $1.2 billion.
Lets face it, society doesn't really care as much if men die.

I don’t know any men who are relying on women to fix their problems. Do you?
Women are supposed to be nurturing and supportive; it’s part of their traditional gender role. Now feminism has made them stop doing that because they want to rebel against the traditional norms of a patriarchal society.

Whoa. Link to the podcast episode?
It’s June Lapine’s podcast (Her moniker is Shoe0nhead). The previous episode was about the “Male loneliness epidemic “, and it discussed the consequences, including the suicide rate discussion. The is the follow up episode with the female responses mentioned before:

I was listening to a podcast discussing the suicide rate for white males, and in the next episode, the hostess said that she got a flood of replies from women (she estimated most of them between 20 and 30 years of age) saying things like “Good! More!” And “So? Why should I care?” , and “Maybe white men should try not being fascist sexist pigs”.
The women who went out of their way to send those emails are not any happier than the men they're disparaging. The difference is these women are too weak and cowardly to commit suicide or they'd be right there with them.

Men have always been seen as disposable, an extension of the “Sperm is cheap, Eggs are expensive “ ethos.

Shoe is based AF. I saw those videos.

I hope the replies were just terminally online femcel weirdo s and do not represent women as a whole.

How many men refuse to seek help for their mental health because of societal pressure to suck it up buttercup?

It is because we as a society have stopped caring about men. Older men aren't supporting younger men, instead calling them soft or other various shite. I see idiots in these teacher threads where men are asking why they weren't statutory raped in high school like it's some sort of joke. I work with a lot of younger men, and it's pathetic how little they get to see mentors and father figures. All these threads on single mothers everyone bashes the women, but some man had to be a part of it and that man refused to deal with their offspring. Those guys should be beaten with sticks.
I get extremely mad about this. We as men are failing to teach the next generations, and wondering why it's all falling apart.

It’s less the phones (which are just the vehicle) and more the constant exposure to social media. They’re not wrong on the constant exposure has created an issue that is equivalent to addiction.
What smartphones did was make the Internet (and thus, social media) portable, and a 24 hour constant. You’re no longer limited to a few hours of Internet per day on your PC. The smartphone crackberried social media for the masses.

Sadly true. I had a discussion with my nephew, who was struggling in a relationship. Had to give him a real talk. When you're in a relationship, her problems are now your problems and your problems are your problems. Told him that if he needed help, real help, he would have to seek it himself.

I believe there are many causes of high suicide rates among men in the western world.
IMO, the most predominant cause is the modern world we’ve created for ourselves. This has caused:
Lack of community
Lack of purpose
Lack of adventures to live
Lack of battles to fight (metaphorically, not just literal battles)
Decline in culture and traditions
I will argue until im dead, that the world before WW2 was a better environment for our mental health. For both men and women. Many people cant conceive this thought because they get stuck on the racism and lack of women’s rights in the past, but thats not what I'm referring to.
People once lived, worked, attended school and church in a small radius. This created community and set a foundation for culture to thrive. Now we live in cookie cutter houses and drive an hour to work or school while our spouses and children drive an hour in the opposite direction.
In ironic fashion, the ability to travel so easily has isolated us all.

How much money do you have and how much success can you flash on social media, how hot is your wife, how big is your house?
This is our society, a female-centric status signaling war. Men have been absorbed into this nasty space and it's made them just as miserable and dissatisfied as modern women.
"Dunk on the haters!" Has become an actual life philosophy.

Has anyone mentioned the need for equity yet?

A liberal fantasy land that would never work according to many on this website

Over 75 and have no retirement savings.
But I’m sure they were good workers and consumers, right?
Meanwhile, President Potato and the rest of the big government politicians on both sides of the aisle can’t put America deeper in debt, and in 9 years, when our social security is no longer protected, and inflation if steadily climbing, they’ll wipe that out too, people who have enriched themselves over the years of their “public service” that neither they or their family will be affected by it going away, but millions of Americans will.
There are changes we are going to have to make to our mindsets over the course of the next decade that will bring us back to reality of what’s really important in life, be it only us, or us and our loved ones. The road we are currently on is wholeheartedly unsustainable, and will cause us to have to reevaluate our priorities as a society.

Blaming women as the crutch of all of your problems, is an issue in itself. What about the fathers and male family members that are supposed to be role models for younger men? Where are they? Men created things like the internet and social media that have become a societal crux across the board. And men sustain stigmas against seeking help for mental health issues amongst their cohorts as much as anyone.
Women may have their part in the issues as a parent raising men, but they’re not anywhere exclusive in culpability.
