Lift with your legs. Don’t injure your back.

Pick up on Rampart Street across from Daily Beet or District Donuts (both on Rampart and Girod). If you can get there before the concert ends maybe you can find a street spot around there to wait. Key is to park on Rampart which is a one-way towards the expressway and I-10.

I'd tell them to walk to the Hilton Riverside and hang out in the lobby. You drive to the hotel and have them meet you at the front doors when you are able to get through.

If you come in from Convention Center Blvd, you should be fine and you won't have to deal with traffic on Poydress.

It is about a 20 minute walk from the dome to the hotel, but it would be the easiest to get to by car (avoiding Poydress).

What in the hell did you do to deserve that? Hope she was at least an OT 8.

Whoa, I just read it again.....Picking up wife and NIECES? Not even daughters. Oh man, your wife better be ready to pay up on the drive home.

Your plan is attending the Taylor Swift concert with them. It's okay to say you invited your daughter to the concert.

Tell them to go to Dave and Busters and have a good time until traffic lightens up.

^ This....as long as the concert doesn't let out too late. I think D&B closes at midnight, so if the concert lets out before 10:30 then they can go grab a bite to eat and play games to give traffic an hour to ease up.

Whatever you do, don't try to wait for them on Poydras. Made that mistake trying to pickup my daughter and her friend after the Zack Bryan concert a few months ago and it was bumper to bumper traffic that wasn't moving because everyone was stopped waiting on whoever they were picking up.

the best suggestion I've seen is to have them walk down to the Riverfront Hilton...Poydras is going to be a zoo with foot traffic

Tell your chauffeur what time the concert starts, ends, and to be punctual?

Get a hotel room and make it dinner, concert, and then lunch the following day. Quick trip to NOLA.

Or have them walk out to Loyola and you can get on the interstate from there.

This would be my option 1. They can basically leave the dome and head towards Girod before going down the ramp/steps. Walk down Girod to Loyola, jump in the car, and off to the interstate.

I'd have them walk across Poydras and you can meet them on the side street by the Mercedes van dealership

Don't know exactly where this is, but the walk across Poydras would be my option 2. Just make sure you are on a street that will take you away from Poydras as that is where most people will go to jump on interstate and where the police details will be to stop traffic for people to cross and the garage to enter.

Maybe if the 3 nieces are older, but I still wouldn't like the idea of my wife having to walk 20 minutes all the way across downtown at 11pm. And definitely not if the nieces are younger. Crowd will start thinning out as you get a few blocks from the dome and I just wouldn't feel comfortable with it that late at night.

Have them walk towards Lafayette Square (between St. Charles & Camp) or somewhere near there. Gets them out of the cluster around the dome and keeps them from crossing Poydras.

Yep. Pick them up a Rouses in the CBD.

Far enough distance not to get stuck in traffic. Get off on Loyola or St Charles and wrap around. Free parking above the store if you don't stay too long.
