there is nothing wrong with pepperoni. I actually eat pepperoni and cheese for a little snack sometimes.

Jersey Mikes hands-down my favorite sandwich shop. Just make sure you have a whole roll of paper towels handy to clean that oil and vinegar off of everything.

I used to think of Subway as healthy and "clean" sandwiches, but with the emergence of much better options in their genre, I never go there anymore.

I now think of them as the dirty, gas station sandwich place.

Jersey Mikes, Firehouse, etc. are all much better.

Me too, but they closed the one in Shreveport.

Only time I get JM's now is when I haul cows to the Longview, TX sale barn. And yes, I've been tempted to drive to Longview just to eat it, but that's slightly irrational.

Bro, get them to put it on the bread side. Doesn't roll off onto your hands.

Fine by me. I prefer Firehouse.

That BBQ Cheddar Brisket is killer.

Yeah it was over saturated to begin with. I would have never gone into that craze. Rt now there are 3 in equal distant to my house, just depends on what direction I go.

I was going to buy a tuna sandwich from the one in Bayou Blue on Saturday. The sandwich maker used a two tablespoon scoop x4 on a foot long. She made a point of wiping any excess of the edges and leveled the scoop. I told her to make sure the sandwich did not get sun damaged.

In the sub world, subway is the worst.

Speaking of Jersey Mike's... Y'all know about the pepper jelly spread, right?

When I was on nutrition class in school, they did swabs of local fast food restaurants and Subway was by far the nastiest. That shite sits out all day.

Schlotzyky's is legit. We had two in BR (one technically in Gonzales) but both have closed. They were both attached to a Cinnabon and I couldn't go to one without going to the other

I knew the guy that for years owned the original locations on Jefferson hwy and Sherwood Forest. The sales were good, but he shut them down because Schlotzky's ever increasing franchise fees chiseled his margin down to nothing. The location one on Essen closed due to the worst customer service on earth killing sales.

speaking of subway, what ever happened to blimpies?

We used to have them in GA when I was younger, and the Union at LSU had one when I was there.

Im assuming Subway took over as this healthy option and other sub places went by the wayside. Now the tides are turning again.

That closed in Shreveport too. They had the best pickles.

Wait, what? This is a thing? So when they do it Mike's Way, I tell them "oil and vinegar on the bread please"?

I forgot the Blimpies even existed

There was this place in Thibodaux where one half of the building was a Blimpies and the other half was a bait shop.

All of the Quiznos around here closed too. The chicken carbonara (sp) was pretty solid
